I really like that, ysi. That feels a lot like a practical Euro alternative to the F-16 and F/A-18 in the '90s. Very neat.

Cheers,

Logan

Jagd Alpha Jet.

Powered by original 2 Larzac or with 1 RB199.

Next iteration, with adequate radar...

Study for a single engine F-4 Phantom.

Engine does not have to be necessarily Volvo RM8. I think more in an upscaled version of EJ200

Hmmm...given a normal F-4E has 2 × General Electric J79-GE-17A after-burning turbojet engines thus giving a combined thrust of 23,810 lbf (105.92 kN) thrust dry and 35,690 lbf (158.76 kN) with afterburner you will be after a fairly powerful engine.  Even if one gives a bit for the weight reduction presumed in going from two engines to one, one would probably still be after something giving in the vicinity of 16,767 lbf (119 kN).  Looking at current options one sees the F135 as a possible modern candidate - will have to do some more digging to get something closer to F-4 era):

Engine Combo
2 x J79-GE-17A

1 x F135-PW-100
Engine Thrust23,810 lbf (105.92 kN) dry/35,690 lbf (158.76 kN) afterburner  28,000 lbf (128 kN) dry/43,000 lbf (191 kN) afterburner
Engine Weight7,670 lb (3,480 kg)  3,750 lb (1,701 kg)

Again the F135 is probably the best modern choice but you might also sneak by with something like the F110-GE-132.

What if an Attack Delfin armed with 2 NR-30 guns and powered by 1 RD-9 (the engine of MiG-19)

The space freed for 2nd crew man can be used for ammo and internal fuel.

Very cool!  The single-seat cockpit looks great.

SMB2 with F-100 flying surfaces. Marcel Dassault himself recogniced that SMB2 was inspired by F-100. In fact whole saga of Mystère fighters were inspired by NAA fighters.
