Wish I had thought of that but I’m beyond that point now. I’ll have to cut doors for everything.
I wonder if I can get away with fuel tanks under the wings? Weapons will all be above the wings.

Located a spare Navy style AAR probe in another kit. This will look good. I added winglets to the wing tips for ECM pods and a Sidewinder or two. Working on the wing floats too. Nose gear doors will be made from the piece I cut out to open the gear bay. Main gear doors will have to be cut new from sheet plastic.

Here are some pics showing the latest progress.
The winglets were cut from the fuselage left over from another A-10 kit.

The wing floats are from 1/48th minigun pods, parts of the Skyhawk's tail and Aves epoxie putty.

I'm really going to have to choose a paint scheme soon!

Winglets: Tricky! And they look very good! 8)

I’ve been agonizing over a paint scheme for this build and it finally came to me. How about a Russian/Soviet scheme with lots of red stars? Story could be its working with the eckronoplanes in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea areas. I have a MiG 21 decal sheet that should work well and an SU-22 that might provide some missiles. I’ll have to look into the actual colors used by the Soviet/Russian navy or just wing it.

There might be some ideas for schemes here.  That said, the YAK-38 Blue/Green would look good:

The blue might be interesting but that green, I don’t know.....
Although, I see I will have to paint the wheels green.

Well a little mojo has returned to this project! I attached some fiddly bits and cockpit stuff. I made an IRST for in front of the cockpit instead of the Pave Penny pod. I managed to loose the Maverick missile rails so I'm waiting for a new Hasegawa weapons set to arrive to steal some from. I'll post some pics when there is a little more to show.

Here's a couple of pics of the latest progress, such as it is.

I stole/liberated an air to air refueling probe from an F-5 kit that wasn't going to need it. I'm going to have to get serious about painting now.
Probably use a paint scheme similar to present day USMC Harriers with I believe gunship gray topside with a light gray underside.

Although, somehow, this A-10 has taken on a serious Beriev vibe  ;D

I ordered some USMC Harrier decals so that will nail down the paint scheme. Finally! So now I will just have to apply the paint!

Whatifmodelers is having a Finish It GB so this might see some action. No promises but the GB is a year long so be patient.

Bought a new bottle of Dark Ghost Grey acrylic to go with the other paints I have. So at least that means I'll go with all acrylic to finish this. $7.50 for this one little bottle! What are they making this stuff out of, unicorn pee?
I have the decals chosen so ready to go there. I also entered it in my clubs Shelf Queen GB so I might get myself more motivated over this and do something with it.

The present state of affairs....

Basic pattern will be a variation on the US Marine Harriers.

Pleased to see production restarted.   Is in class of its own.   What a design concept !
Does carry Dark Ghost Grey well.

What paint is that expensive? Vallejo and AK acrylics are under $4 for a 17ml bottle, which is good for a lot of models. Even the Tamiya acrylics are less than $4

As with most builds.. put on a base coat and the whole thing melds together.

Nice work

It does remind me of a scaled-down Beriev Be-200. Beautiful execution os far, and the color scheme sounds good.
