Boom Haul
« on: July 24, 2016, 08:16:53 PM »
Ok fellas. I just completed the trailer for the Scania 142H tractor unit , I had built for the Steel Haul that I was supposed to use but did not. The boom is from a toy digger I bought at a cheap store. I had planned on using it as a load for my heavy hauler rig, but the amount of work I had to do on it to get it looking right, would have taken me ages. So I opted to salvage what I could and use the parts for something useful. So now I had a use for the boom. :) I added hydraulics using soldering iron wiring and styrene tubing. I wanted it to look alive. The trailer is the Italeri curtain trailer kit. I only used the chassi and bottom half of it. I then scratch built the extra floor and added tie-downs.

So now this tractor has a trailer, I think, goes together pretty well. Hope you like the results.

WOW!!! Do you own a shrink ray-gun?

It's all too real including Monsieur Michelin and the crooked license plate.

Based on every spot I look at being real with dirt, grime, rust, fluid stains, chipped/faded paint, windows to tires and all in between I too am suspicious you are in possession of a shrink-ray-gun.  Likely of alien origin somehow removed from area 51.

Or you have connections with a top notch super photoshop operation within CIA.

My thoughts exactly! :icon_punal:

I though the 1st photo was a reference for the model to follow for more than a few seconds (until I noticed the wood-grain base). ???

Seriously incredible work! 8)

The details, the weathering and the rust spots really bring these things to life. These are not mere models, but works of art in their own right!
