EMHAR tanks
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:33:46 AM »
Been looking at three 1/35 EMHAR WW1 tank models:  FEMALE MARK MK.IV - MALE MARK MK.IV - WHIPPET MK A
Appear to be ideal for bashing into 1/72 monster AFVs.......

1/35 Mark IV is 54.5ft long as 1/72
1/35 Whippet is 41ft long as 1/72

the Whippet (as the oddest shape) would look the best  ;) :)

The Mk IV is OK (here's my rendition ) The tracks are no fun and you'll be a lot happier if you don't add the rails on top.
I haven't built the Whippet; I had to look online to see which end was the front; I though it was what I know know is the rear.
The incredibly crappy RPM FT-17 would also work as a scalarama if you do something about the running gear (or at least adjust it so that the tracks fit.)

What a build on Mk IV.  Convicing weathering  :)
Thanks - 1/35 FT-17 is another option at 34ft 1/72.  Abrams hull is 26ft.  Even dinky FT-17 can be a player in 1/35-to-1/72 build.

Whippet is odd shape - yes !

Just keep extending the Whippet's superstructure upwards and upwards in smaller diameter layers, like some mad, rivetted skyscraper....... ;D

Put a platform along the length of the engine compartment on the Whippet and add some armored tubs and machine guns at the ends and in the middle. Add a rotating turret on top of the fixed turret (or in place of) or add a smaller turret at the front of the engine.
