Yep, and a later variation on the paint job had the circular GE logo on the tail.

At the Telford show, Meng announced a new 1/35 tank: an AMX-30B!  8) Way cool, I think.

Ah, that would explain why the trucked a real life AMX30 into the show then?

Any chance of them doing any more Japanese unbuilt aircraft?  I'd love a good J4M1 among others.

I wonder if the kit breakdown will allow them to do a G-91T at a later time?

They're right, though, a new one of these is overdue.

It would be nice to see the G-91Y in 1/48th scale in something other than resin.  Maybe Meng will take the chance.

This ought to make Greg a little happier with Meng - a new Me 410 in 1/48th. ( Mit der grossen honkin'

Meng has now added another modern 1:35th scale French armor subject to their stable.  This time it is the AUF1 155mm Self-propelled Howitzer based on the AMX30

Certainly intended to please many and of course it will hopefully see a major drop in the price for the rather shoddy alternative offered by Heller.  That would be a Win-Win for anyone wanting to do a what if project based on an AMX30 or the AUF1 but has been put off by the high price on the Heller kits.

Very Welcome...though that turret will probably end up on another hull...maybe a Leo 1 or even a Chieftain.

You can get aftermarket Royal Ordnance 105mm L7/M68 barrels, so there's an easy whiff for the AMX-30: an export model for a customer who didn't fancy the French gun.

There have been any number of proposals to put the GCT/AUF-1 turret on other hulls.

The GAZ Tiger is an odd choice.  <...>

Meng seems to be all about odd choices!  :icon_beer: Japanese Luft 46, F-102, Minenräumer, G.91, AMX-30, HiLux technical,...thinking about it, I guess the most mainstream thing they've done so far is probably their Merkava 3.   :icon_surprised:

The dozer is great. The old Land Cruiser's awesome as well. I guess these two, along with Zvezda's BMPT, are my armour highlights of 2013!
Cheers,
Moritz

The thing with the GAZ Tiger though, from a whiff POV, is that it's pretty much a generic modern "protected patrol vehicle", so you could pass it off as anybody's made by anyone. Stick a Milan or an AAT-52 on the roof and claim it to French and no one would bat an eyelid.... >:D

I like the fact that Meng has stepped up to produce things that are not in main stream focus such as that GaZ Tiger.  I recently downloaded and installed Arma 2 in order to try my hand at the DayZ mod I have been getting a lot of ideas for models that might never have been and that GaZ Tiger has a lot of potential for a DayZ themed vehicle.  Add in the Trumpeter PMC figures and it would be perfect for a nice little vignette somewhere in the DayZ 'verse.

The Caterpillar D9 bulldozer will certainly make a lot of customers happy in the fact that they are not stuck with the horrible resin offering as the only model available.  The price should be substantially less too which should make it more attractive.  I would have settled for a less glamorous bulldozer such as what was used by U.S. Army combat engineer units in the Vietnam conflict or the cold war era.  But why am I complaining?  An injection molded plastic bulldozer!  FTW :)

I wonder if they'll come out with an option to build a regular, non-military, D9.
'Twould give folks a lot more options.

I agree, it would be much more attractive in some cases to not have to build Darth Dozer.  Perhaps that option is there by not using those parts specifically for the military version?  One can hope?  :)
