We got a couple of those in to the store I work at. Yep, it's a big Cat.  :o

Impressive kit, but seems a bit limited in its' cross spectrum appeal. But when I own a model company, I'd put out kits that only appeal to the vast majority.    ;D ;D

^ Hmmm. Let's see. 1/72 is considered oddball these days. Cold War era fighters are also pretty oddball. Especially when they were flown by only one air arm. Which can only mean that the next aircraft will be a 1/72 F-106 Delta Dart.  :D I mean, the logic is sound, right?

Ah, a man can dream!  :uuu:
Indeed, ESPECIALLY if they follow it with a 1/48 up-scale so I can get back to work on an old prof's Six without fighting with the psychotic-episode-inducing features of the Revellogram kit.

Which Cold War fighter have they made that was only used by one air arm?  ;)

Just looking round their website, I noticed these that havn't been mentioned on here:

Me-410. Comes with captured Soviet as well as German markings. Pity it's in the wrong scale.... ;)

Water! Wonder how long it'll take someone to build the water cooler to go with these bottles so they can have two unlikely characters nattering by it...

They also do different water bottles, tires and various sizes and styles of nuts and bolts, all here:

I'm getting to really love this company! :-*

They bring out good quality kits of different subjects & their 4x4's can be used in both military & non-military settings. :D

Now I see they've got accessory packs! 8)

Gotta get me a few of those new Landcruisers pickups, too, at least a couple for post-apocalypse dio's, when I get back to the mainland. ;)

I'll take one of those "revolvers" if anyone does it or a conversion :D
Unfortunately only one aircraft was built.  Ground-tests showed that while it didn't do a lot of good for the Short Stirling they used as the target (the one they flew), it also pretty much wrecked the 410 forward-fuselage section :icon_crap:

No thanks on the X-7 Rotkäppchen!  The thought of wire guided missiles on a low level me410 is not pleasant.  A battery of Panzerblitz II will do nicely instead.

I'm pretty happy about the Leo 1. The old Italeri kit is still pretty good but I imagine the Meng kit will be quite an improvement for probably not a lot more money than the current (excessive) price of the mid- 70s Italeri tool.

I'd expect that Italeri 1A4 price to drop to around $25 verrrry soon. Lucky had the 1A5 on sale for $22 recently. Expect more Leopards from Meng.

And it just so happens that I'd be flat broke every time Lucky had the Italeri 1A5 on sale... just my luck! :( The thing about the Italeri 1A4 is that you can still find earlier issue kits on eBay for less than the current retail price (~ $40 USD). Hopefully, market pressure along with the release of the Meng kit will bring the price down to a more reasonable level.

As for the Meng kit itself, I'm pretty happy even though it'll probably be in the $55-$60 USD range. I can definitely see using it to build a 1A5 DK and if it's a significant improvement over the Italeri kit, possibly a C2 Mexas as well.

More photos - less blurry too. ;)

This kit consists of 471 plastic parts on 23 sprues and 10 PE parts on 2 PE frets. Periscopes and lights are provided with clear parts; all hatches can be modelled open or closed; armour protection for periscope and grilles for engine compartment can be precisely presented with PE parts; track links and one-piece TPE tracks are included; three options (German Leopard 1 A3/A4 or Greek Leopard 1 A3) are provided.

Thanks for the link Graeme! That puts the price back to the "good old days" of relatively cheap Italeri kits.  :)
