Horten in Hinomarus
« on: August 15, 2012, 07:03:41 AM »
I only decided to enter last week so it had to be something I could put together quickly. After a search through the stash I found this. I thought that as the Germans shared their technology with the Japanese they may have had their own version of the Ho229 had the war carried on past 1945.

By Sunday I had got most of it together and waiting for paint.

After painting and a few coats of Klear I got the decals and undercarriage on this evening.

I'll post some more pics after I've given it a coat of matt varnish tomorrow. It should come in just under the wire.

Elegant and nicely turned out. The Horten is a natural for a tech transfer.

Thanks for the comments. It is a rather basic kit but it turned out well and I think the simple colour scheme suits it. I gave it a coat of matt varnish tonight so here's the finished item.

I imagine the sight of these would have come as a shock to B-29 pilots over Tokyo.

Simple, clean, and frighteningly believable.  What more can you ask for?  8)
