Title: Aircraft from Manga/Anime
Post by: GTX_Admin on January 29, 2012, 04:50:40 AM
Hi folks,

A thread for any aircraft inspired by or from Manga/Anime.  To start with, here is done form the Appleseed Movies - the AF5 Tiltrotor:

Looks like a C-130 crossed with aV-22 and then given a funky wing.  Still build able though.

Regards,

Greg

^ And some Harrier nozzles aft of the wing. The wing tilt design is pretty cool, with lots of area for level flight and as little wing area as possible spoiling lift when they're in hover mode.
This beast has been on the "to do"-list in my head ever since I first saw that movie. Just wish someone did some 1/72 or even 1/144 Landmates to accompany it.  :icon_swat:

It's not found in any of the American releases of Porco Rosso, but the Japanese film ends with Porco's Savoia passing a French Caravelle passenger liner after Fio modifies it yet again with a new wing and turboprop engine.      Fio's  butterfly tailed and jet powered Republic SeaBee is very cool too.
