Recent disclosures by law enforcement departments have revealed a class of warships that operated in World War 2 that were heretofore unknown to most people. The "Yakuza" class was a small class of destroyers operated by the Japanese organized crime syndicate, the Yakuza, in support of their operations.

These ships were often spotted in harbours and ports of countries not allied with Imperial Japan, but rarely did any authority take any action against them. What business they were active in is often not known, and attempts to find out are often met with denials of the ships being seen at all.
Kits used were the Tamiya 1/700 scale "Matsu", with a slightly different paint scheme. I normally don't do ships, but Mark at work (No, the OTHER Mark, not Mark 2) got me thinking, and that's always dangerous. We did a quick two man group build for this one.

Great whiffs, love the 'silver' gangster 'bling' weapons!! 8) 8)
They certainly looks different to my two Fujimi Matsu class DDs (same kits as yours) ;)
