Title: Too Late the Triplane
Post by: Brian da Basher on November 25, 2014, 04:53:47 AM
I wanted to let everyone one know about a fantastic model that fits the GWGB to a T. Allow me to present Larry's (CSMO's) absolutely fantastic and incredibly colorful Fokker Dr.I triplane. Prepare to feast your eyes:

Unfortunately, this beauty didn't get posted in the GWGB in time, but I think it's so wonderful that I wanted to give it special notice and award it a discretionary Moderator's Prize.

Congratulations on a wonderful bit of Fokker fancy, Larry!

I still contend that the pilot was a South Australian of German extraction, from either the Barossa Valley or from around Hahndorf (Ambleside, by the time this aircraft appeared) in the Adelaide Hills, who was drawn back to the Fatherland on the eve of the war but felt sufficient attachment to his Australian home to paint his flying machine in the sporting colours of his adopted state.

;)

Still a nice build, too! :)
