This is a rarity for me - a completely OOB build. This is the HobbyBoss U212 German Navy sub:

The hardest part was attaching the thin PE bracing to the rear fins. It took all of two days to build and paint and I wasn't even dedicating all my bench time to it.
If I do a whiff, it'll be attaching a Riich 1/350 DSRV to the back, making it a deep sea recovery/exploration sub. Sort of like a German Navy Seaview ("Meerblick")

Thanks guys. I went with the plastic vs. PE props. There are four options all together - two plastic props with different blade counts and two PE equivalents. It is a bit like a holiday; all I added was some slight weathering (which isn't visible in the pictures, neither are the two hull colors). There are two microscopic PE bitts at the top of the sail and I didn't loose either one! I may add a Northstar figure to the observation area. Even though this is a fairly small boat, it's not as small as it appears. It's about 70% the length of a Soviet Alpha class sub.
Craig, I'd love to see what you do with the SYNS Dr. Sivanna! I'm sure the reactor will only be used to warm food...

This boat looks like it'd be a good candidate to flip upside down and turn into an airship...

I knew you were going to say that!
The sub has a couple of bilge keel looking tubes on the bottom (or top) and the sail is molded into the top of the hull. Here's a page with all the kit parts:

Thanks for that link, Frank! The more I look at those parts, the more I think I need to add one of these to the kit stash!
