Title: LF: Multiple 72nd scale Mirage and Kfir kits
Post by: Roger the Cabin Boy on January 14, 2012, 02:07:38 AM
Looking for some 1/72 Mirages and Kfirs for an extensive Latin American and SAAF collection.  Not PM (nasty) nor PJ (scary expensive).   Also the Sukhoi-killer Ecuador Mirage F1 decals from Aztec 72-003.

They do say it pays to advertise...

Got a 1:72 Kfir marketed as the F-21 Lion, somewhere, think it was an Italeri model. Interested? What would you trade it for?

Okay, I've got a Revell Mirage IIIE/S/R/RS kit and I only need certain items from it (the combo underwing tanks/bomb pylons).  It was purchased used off eBay and I'd need to check the complete status to set a price but, other than the goodies I want, it is available.

Hi Evan,

Long time no speak, trust you are doing well.  PM inbound for the trade, but of more general interest to all is this thread on the Mirage bomb rack tank.  It seems that none of the kits have done a good job of this yet, so I feel a resin master coming on.  Need stronger medication...

If this was in 1/48,  I'd be lining up for one...

Well, I'm doing well now that I'm working for Bell.  I'm currently part of a team doing some 1/1 scale work on some V-22 upgrades.  In any case, if you do proper resin masters for that Mirage bomb rack tanks, sign me up for a couple pair (I'm thinking those tanks with LGBs would look good on a TSR-2 with Pave Tack in the weapons bay - possibly with AS-30Ls on the outboard pylons).  Another whif use of the tanks would be in the outboard pylons of AdlA or Aeronavale export Phantom IIs (with J79s or re-engined with ATAR-9Ks).

Hmm maybe time I got fixed up with some resin of my own to do short run stuff like this and obsure real world topics.  At least I now have a ring binder with assorted 3 views of unkitted stuff I want, so that's a start.  Unkitted wants sounds like a good thread, so I'll go open it now.
