Hello
For the first ever GB of this great forum I decided to present a new artwork based on my alternate history, The Portuguese Aeronautical Industry.

One of the aircrafts to be presented there is the amphibious AF-12, a medium size patrol and ASW / ASuW aircraft operated by the Portuguese Navy.
Here it is; perhaps I will present also the land bomber and other versions of this aircraft

"What have you done to the Sea Duck?!?!"
Seriously, though, it looks a lot like the Sea Duck...and that's a very good thing. Very nice, I like it a lot.
Cheers,
Logan

I had to search the internet to find out what you were talking... :)
I had never seen that show, but it looks great (specially the aircraft ;) )
Great minds think alike. ;)
Thanks Logan

Aww, that was my childhood!

You have to admit, they look a lot alike! So, what are then engines powering the thing?
Cheers,
Logan

They were powered by a new version of the LusoMotores' Trovão engine (see the thread Portuguese Aeronautical industry).
They have similarities, but mine is way cooler... ;)

This aircraft was built in several diferent versions and one of the most important was the land bomber, the CNCA B-12.
Here is a Portuguese Air Force aircraft

Some AF-12 were converted to fire- bomber aircraft.
They were used by the civil protection agency and some also perfomed a SAR role.

A really nice looking design, just the sortv thing one could envisage coming from post war drawing boards of any country planning a fledgeling aircraft industry (before being abandoned in favor of less capable wartime cast offs supplied free from the us.)
Really neat artwork, have you drawn up a ga. sketch of the design :)
cheers, Joe

Thanks Joe for your comments.
I have not done yet a GA drawing of this design, but I might do it

Cool concept. Will there be a transport variant? Those twin booms cry out for one ;)

Sweet!

Looks neat, but the CG looks like it would be too far back on this one.

Looks like amphibious version of P-61. Nice :)
