Hi all,
It took me quite some time (6 months) before I could stay focused long enough to finish a kit (I started 8 in the meantime ^^) and this kit wasn't an easy one (really short run!). This is the An-14 Eastern Express, with left over A-109K decals from revell. Hope you'll like it :)

and now a family pick with his cousin AN-28

that's it for now, i'll try and finish another kit this year ;)
cheers for now

Yeah. Great choice of subjects too :)

Absolutely crackerjack!
Welcome aboard, Julian!

Sweet!
The Clear your workbench GB will hopefully give you the impetus you need...

One of my favourite Soviet era planes, you have certainly done an excellent job with it, hats off to with that one.

Beautiful job, especially for such a small scale. (http://www.doomisland2.com/images/avatars/701.gif)

and here is the mig 1.44, first finished model of 2013. A quick recap: Zvezda Kit, Neomega Cockpit, Aires nozzels, Albatros decals, Gunze Revell and Lifecolor paints, and last but not least Alclad varnish. And now some pictures.

Damn fine work!
-
And another great subject choice :)
-
:-* Some beautiful work! You've definately got an eye for knockout paint schemes, and the ability to pull them off. :)

I like how well thought-out that cam scheme is; how you've matched the edges of the different colours. Its a small detail that has a great impact.

6 is more than me ;D great work you got there!

This is repetitive --- but I certainly agree with what each of these good citizens of BTS said.

Love it ! In fact id say that was the nicest build of the new Gnat ive seen so far ! :D
-
Looks great! I'd swear it was a larger scale if I hadn't seen the box.
-
That camo scheme is just gorgeous! Subtle, yet effective and very believable!
Your Gnat is worthy of the blue ribbon in my book!

Wonderful!! I really love the colour scheme, and those decals are just so cool ! It really suits the Gnat...

Small air forces are really nice :) I like this small plane

Very nice! You going to enter that one into the Desert Warfare GB?
-
Very nice and quite the nasty-looking little customer.

And no, I'm not dead!!! I just found a job and this has considerably reduced my amount of play time ;D ;D nevertheless I love my job and still manage to glue some plastic ^^ so here is the latest addition to my collection, Mexico's Rafale N

Hey hey,
I'm back   not that I stopped modeling, only I got really really really (you get where I'm going with this right…) slow!!! New job, new hours (in the evening) and a new home needing a lot of work reduced my modeling time even more. Somehow, I got around to spray a little paint on 2 birds.
first, my mig-19 or FT-6 (future US Navy Agressor) (Trumpeter 1/48)

I also forgot to present you with the last 2 I finished in 2013 (what is it already september 2014 and I haven't finished anything this year…)

Finally, these a the 4 last birds I will present to you in this form. i intend to document future builds better to be able to make step by step presentations of their construction. If i were you, I'dd keep my eyes open for an incoming yf-23 in scale 1/48, hint hint ;) ;)
Talk to you soon
cheers!!

Loving these all! :)
-
Indeed ... but that Turkish Devestator on floats is especially tasty :)
-
:)!!!!

All are just killer!
BTW-what colors did you use for the Devastator?

Hey hey
Here is the start of the month report regarding the pile of models that are currently built at the Flappydaffy Whifyard.
First, my YAK 3 (Eduard 1/48) that is in painting mode, scheme has been chosen, green camo over a Sail and metal frame. (Second picture)
My YF-23 who is assembled, but due to a difference in thickness of the wing and the fuselage a lot of putty still has to be sanded (boring TV shows, where are you??!!)
A RAH-66 Comanche, for the Canadians that is also in paint mode (smart move was to paint the white last :banghead: :banghead: :bang head:)
I also started (no, 45 models started is not enough!! :drink: :drink:) at my local hobby store to demonstrates various products and initiate people to airbrush painting. A nice little Piper Cub in 1/35 scale (Bronco). All interior is OOB except for the floor that has been replace by a wooden piece (easier to cut than for me to learn how to paint realistic wood effects). Nerve testing part of the build are the seat belts, only the buckles are provide, the fabric has to be cut from tape en inserted (4h for 6 straps…) but the result is good
And finally the Devastator, panels have been washed and decals placed, matt varnish is also done and of course then it happened, I notice finger marks + super glue vapors in the canopy :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :bang head:
so the Devastator is now a convertible. canopy will come back once the flaps are in place. And afterwards the last bits will be glued (probe and antenna). And this will be my X-mas miracle as it will be the first kit finished this year

That's all folks!!!
C ya next time ;)
-
More goodness! :)
-
That Turkish camo on the Devastator floatplane looks fantastic.
Cheers,
Logan
-
The Devastator is progressing really really really slow (speed is proportional to the amount of work) and I have like no time at all for modeling but I got around to give a start of paint on my Piper Cub. Not entirely convinced but not unhappy either. I'll see how this works out.
Later all ;)
-
Of course, since my stash of models is through the roof and my concentration is deeply impressed by that soooooooo
I started a couple of new builds :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :drink: :drink:
let's start with a kit bashing, I had a grumman skyrocket, well known for its uhm… unconventional look ;D ;D and I'm kinda into floatplanes right now so I started digging in the pile of discarded models at the local hobby club and tadaaaa an old and badly built Kingfisher later, we have a GRumman WaterRocket ;)
check back with me within 6 months for the next stage of the build (I also got realistic ;) )
I'm also building a companion for the Devastator, a Wildcatfish for the Finish war of continuation (floatplane + Fjords). The interior received some Eduard photo etch, just needs some paint now.
If Hobbyboss is listening, I would like an explanation for the engine. I have to pieces, both with a sunk alignment structure and I wonder how this would help the fit. Turns out it doesn't…
(http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m148/flappydaffy/DSC00332_zps1e36ee6a.jpg)
And now that this has been said, time for the big news…
Drum roll please!!
I finished a kit this year!!!! It's an early Saturnalian miracle!!! First kit for November first, about time ;)

Alvis 3.1
-
That floaty Devastator is lovely indeed!
-
beautiful floatplanes indeed
-
hey guys,
glad you like it :)
not much progress on the wildcatfish or the waterrocket (almost none in fact ;) ) but some major progress on the piper. Camo is done, even if some pouts need to be perfected but no changes in design to be expected.

hope you like it :)
till later

I really like the color & marking scheme on that Devastator!
A model more pleasing to the eye it'd be hard to find!
Well done!
Brian da Basher
-
Hi all,
No progress on the Piper this time but some progress on the Wildcatfish :drink:
First the engine… probably the worst fitting thing I ever assembled, no alignment stuff whatsoever and not enough space between the cylinder crowns and the other parts so they would glue correctly… Definitely not recommended!
Secondly the interior… way more fun to paint an tho assemble :) :) color photo etch for the instruments and the seat belts.
and finally on his floats just for fun. Lots of sanding - puttying on the fuselage left before that can happen.
I really like the looks on this one
till later all
cheers!
-
Somehow I have missed this thread with its fantabulous builds :-*
Going to take time and study each one.
-
The Wildcatfish would make a nice pair with the float-Zero of the other side. Thanks!
-
Looking good.
-
Devastator is such a great build (way beyond me) I can sense the salt water ocean spray :-*
Mig-19 thatz a subject seldom built.
-
Man, am I slow… :banghead: :banghead:
Hi all,
this is my usual spring come back special. I know, I know every time I say I'm back for good, I keep up the rhythm for a few weeks and poof, like the great Houdini I vanish… But trust me, this time it will be different ;)
Apartment advanced a little, career did as well, private life… uh let's forget about the later, and models, well… a lot of the started stuff is still started, and some new models came along   so I guess I'll keep you posted about those because they are the hot ones on the bench right now.
First, De Havilland Hornet, from Trumpetter (how come I feel the need to write the name in full instead of the first five letters… Can it be I heard those letters somewhere else ;) ). Kit is fun to build, and their stops it qualities. Canopy is odd shaped, seat is actually a couch, and the wheels has as much in common with the real thing as do I with ET. Anyway, fun build I said, just added some Baracuda goodies for a spitfire in the cockpit. Panel is from the kit, with decal punched and died (fun because is comes with a little hammer)
