That is awesome! It might also work as a rocket racer.

Normally, I'd say that removing booms from a twin-boomer should be sentenced by death penalty, but... your result is so cute :-* you are forgiven ;)

I think this is one of my favorites of yours yet, eric!

The greeblies (sorry for using a technical term) around the engines are what really take this to the next level in my book!

The blue was an excellent choice as well.

Whodathunkit that a P-61 nose would look so good on a Space Shuttle?

thank you all very much!

the idea came from the chance meeting of the two kits on my modelling table after cooliding in my stash.

The wings and booms will appear here in the coming weeks

the flying banana fuselage (remaining from the above bananaification)
fits well with wings from the very versatile Twin Otter :

My gosh that looks incredibly practical. If you just gave it a conventional vertical tail, I can absolutely see that as some sort of 1950s light STOL transport in the vein of the Twin Pioneer.

Cheers,

Logan

thanks all !

I agree that an additional fin would make the thing more reassuring, I hesitated but finally kept the shape of the H-21 :
in a whiff wirld, having a bit wild direction is fine  ;)

This could easily be a Société des Avions René Couzinet design similar to that below:

I agree with the no-fin/Couzinet choice, almost incredible, so unusual, but very possible, this is a good way for a whif plane :-*

The flying banana otter looks great! One option would be to add a third engine at the top of the tail/stem.

thanks !

by the way, it is a OOB Whif : the kit renders very nicely the plane that can be seen in the movie.
Even the colors were not chosen by me  ;)

thanks!

The kits is in already colored plastic : I just had to paint the wing tips blue, and the wheels and nose cone yellow.

So all merit goes to Myazaki the author of the movie (and FineMolds)  ;D

Twin Otter and CAMS 37, yellow Re: hybrid aircraft/animals and others
« Reply #798 on: December 28, 2016, 04:02:29 AM »

with all these kitbashes, I had a Twin Otter fuselage left over, as well as long stored wings of a CAMS37
(the hull had been used in conjunction with a Bearcat ...
see http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4522.msg76383#msg76383)

and they happened to fit not too bad after all (complemented with a P-47 propeller) :
