Hi there:)
Recently, I bought 1/48 Mi-24 by Revell and I'm waiting for 1/48 Revell AH-1W Supercobra to start work on this monster:

And I have a question: how to additionally upgrade my Superhind? Fenestron? Different air intakes? Dust filters? What will be reasonable in another (I hope not) middle Europe cold war?

Was that converted for a movie ?

Was that converted for a movie ?
Surprisingly not :) It's a real project of ATE company from South Africa :) This Hind was upgraded with modern avionics and "slimmed" with nearly 1000 kg.

Interesting...

Specifically, its the ATE SuperHind Mk.V. You can see it and their other variants here (https://sites.google.com/site/stingraysheligalleries/south-africa-s-ate-superhind-series-mk-2-mk-3-mk-4-and-mk-5). I believe ATE is now defunct.

Hello,
I wouldn't be myself if I wouldn't change something in my Franken-Hind:) Soooo...now it has larger rotor tips (like EH-101), fenestron and 4 engines with two exhausts :). Front gus will be from AH-1, rest of armament mixed, half western, half eastern :). I think I'll put Frankenstein monster head under cockpit with "Frankie goes to war" :) I'll add photos today evening or tommorow morning :)

I look forward to seeing some pics.

And here it is: Mi-24 AH-1 Franken-Hind :)

Fine work on the fenestron - what a beast! :o

Looking good

Really like where this is going!

Going to add IR Suppression gear to the two combined exhausts? Or will you go with something "simple" like an upturned exhaust that masks most of the exhaust from the ground? Of course, that would add a requirement to be careful in positioning the rotor on shutdown unless you've got reasonable clearance between exhaust outlet and rotor that it's not a problem (and, yes, I am speaking from personal experience and observation).

I really like where this is going! Oh, I see CA said that....still, I do! :-*

Really promising! :-*
-
Artoor, that looks all kinds of funky!
-
Congratulations Artoor! I think you have managed to make the Hind even more mean looking. Really like the Fenestron rotor system you built for this project.

Great concept!

really seamless integration of 4..5..just how many kits are there?!?

Thanks guys:)

Only two - AH-1 and Mi-24. Fenestron and Longbow-style radar are scratchbuilt.

Coming along nicely
Could be a candidate for the clear your workbench GB
