Title: Grumman F11F-1F Super Tiger profiles?
Post by: stephenmiller on November 25, 2012, 02:32:46 AM
WI the NATO air forces and also the RCAF and the JASDF decided to buy the Grumman F11F-1F Super Tiger instead of the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter.  I know the the JASDF nearly signed with Grumman until the last moment when they decided to choose Lockheed instead.  I would like to see some WI profiles of the Super Tiger in JASDF and NATO air forces liveries too, if possible.

I've thought about it, but never sat down and worked out accurate F-11F-1F line art before.

First thing you'd need are some good profiles and the only source I know of for the SuperTiger is the Ginter book.

I'm working on some line art using the drawings at airwar.ru as a base.

Scroll down to grumman and you'll find the tiger drawings.

Have also a  look over at secretprojects.co.uk.
The attached pictures show, that the Grumman F11F-1F Super Tiger had dorsal carriage for two Sidewinder missiles in tandem just aft of the cockpit.
