Australia builds the CA15, it enters service as a replacement for the Mustang and reequips the Citizen Airforce Squadrons.  When Israel begins searching for combat types at the end of the British mandate the Australian Jewish community convince Australia to supply CA15s to Israel.

It wouldn't be a replacement for the Mustang but instead of.  Remember that the CAC Mustangs were designated CA-17/18.

Ah huh, I was thinking in terms of replacing the lend lease Mustangs, which is what the CAC Mustangs did.
