Title: BREGUET XIV B2
Post by: andonio64 on November 30, 2018, 10:26:53 PM
Hallo everybody, I publish here a non "what-if" recent work of mine. It took to me more than one year to be completed, not because it's complex (although it is indeed the most complex work I did so far) but because time has become a very rare resource...

It's a 2 seats WW1 French bomber:

BREGUET XIV B2
Escadrille BR 117
GB5 - Escadre de bombardement n° 12
Plessis-Belleville June 1918

Kit Hi-Tech - 1/48

Very nice work!
What are the weapons under the wing? Looks like the larger ones could be Hellfire missiles. Just kidding!

Know what you mean about time permitting !

Very Good looking model, particularly like the wood effect you have achieved on the propeller also curious mix of bombs.

Nice one!

Appears exhaust exits via stack above engine to immediately disperse over wing.  Counter measure to sensors of early heat seeking missiles and ground based infrared sensors. ?

Absolutely superb! I've never seen that famous French camo done better and the rigging is exquisite!

One of your best, Antonio!

I also noticed that the tire rubber is gray - as they would have been before carbon was added to the rubber. Nice touch!

Actually they use soot --- back in the day when I was working on the shop floor as a steel fabricator, I made a machine that was to be used to produce the soot ---- reason you get that black on your hands when you handle older tires

Thanks to both guys, yes the tires were gray and full, no air chamber, I did not know it was because they did not add carbon (or soot).
Very interesting!

Here are the details on how (and why) tires became black (http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2011/07/making-tires-black-instead-of-the-natural-white-color-of-rubber-produces-a-much-stronger-and-longer-lasting-tire/)
