Title: MK Models
Post by: Jeffry Fontaine on November 23, 2012, 02:42:26 AM
Apparently this product line is available only through the PanzerShop.  With that being said, MK Models does have a couple of items that I think you will find to your liking.

The first one that caught my attention was through an update at PMMS for the MK Models product line with some images from a recent model show in the UK (http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/mkmodels.html).  The Tatra t815-70 truck is hot but hotter yet is the little 1:35th scale Quad 4X4 ATV in the images below the Tatra.  This is sold as part of a kit that includes the ATV plus a trailer that can be seen in this product listing at the PanzerShop on-line store:

Quadbike Grizzly 450 + trailer SMT-171B (http://www.panzershop.cz/inshop/scripts/set.asp?Level=37)

fortunately this is the first item listed on that page.

To avoid confusion in locating this product line, here is the link for the PanzerShop main page (http://www.panzershop.cz/inshop/)

Robert,

Something close but not the same is this HobbyBoss 1:35th scale Oshkosh M1070 Heavy Equipment Tractor and M1000 Heavy Equipment Trailer kit nr. 85502 (http://www.amps-armor.org/ampssite/reviews/showReview.aspx?ID=2244&Type=FB) (kit review from AMPS)

Currently available for a decent price at Sprue Brothers Models LLC. Home > By Manufacturer > Hobby Boss > HBS85502 1:35 Hobby Boss M1070 Truck Tractor & M1000 HET Semi-Trailer #85502 (http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/hbs85502-os.htm)

If you look here (http://www.vt-models.cz/www-vt-models-cz/eshop/0/0/5/673-D-6-CAT) you will see a kit breakdown of the Dozer.

Regarding the trailer (or at least something very close to it):

Looks like the same trailer to me & makes sense they'd promote their own products on their box art.

Thanks Greg, now another question.  Can you get other towing trucks in 1/35 scale like commercial ones (from any manufacturer ?)

MiniMan Factory (http://www.minimanfactory.com/) has a resin tractor that might fill your requirements.

M915A1 Line Haul Tractor (kit number 9) (http://www.minimanfactory.com/en/m915a1-line-haul-tractor-i9/)
(http://www.minimanfactory.com/user/content/products/tn_mmf35001.jpg) (http://www.minimanfactory.com/en/m915a1-line-haul-tractor-i9/)

Olive-Drab.com -- M915 Series Truck, Tractor, Line Haul 50,000 GVWR 6X4 (http://olive-drab.com/idphoto/id_photos_m915series_m915.php)
Army-Technology.com -- M915A5 Line-Haul Tractor Truck (http://www.army-technology.com/projects/m915a5-tractor/)
Daimler Trucks North America -- M915 series 6x4 Military Truck, Load Handling System (http://www.daimler-trucksnorthamerica.com/govt/military/freightliner/m915_load.asp)

The M915 should have no trouble hauling that trailer from MK :)

Yes, some heavy military type semi would be what I have in mind for a drilling rig concept.  The multi wheel trailers wheels/axle assemblies are something I've been playing with in my mind and needed something to haul it  ---

Can you get kits of trailer pups and boosters in 1/35 ?

Like this ?

None that I know of.  Your scratch-building kung fu might be put to task to come up with something.

Whilst maybe not what you were after, there are a number of 1/35 trucks here (http://www.vt-models.cz/www-vt-models-cz/eshop/9-1-AFV-35/0/0/9/0/).

Well, I just ordered the Tatra 87 from the site. Had to guess on shipping option as there's
no guidance as to kit weights.

No, it will not be painted as a friggin' military staff car.  :icon_punal:

From the CJ-3B website:  Military High-Hood Questions: CJ-3B or M606 (http://Military High-Hood Questions: CJ-3B or M606)

"M606" may simply have been a Kaiser Jeep designation for a CJ militarized for foreign sale, as opposed to a design created to U.S. military specs. Jim Allen in his Illustrated Buyer's Guide: Jeep (see the CJ-3B Bookshelf) says that although the U.S. military bought CJ-3B's off the assembly line, the M606 designation applies to units built in the 1960's for the Mutual Defense Assistance Program (90K JPEG) or MDAP, designed to provide friendly countries with military equipment.
