RAF F-14 Tomcat
« on: June 18, 2026, 12:05:49 AM »
My Tamiya 1/32 F-14A Tomcat wip, as an RAF machine. The RAF looked at buying the Tomcat in the mid 1970's. I have rescribed the rear end as Tamiya only did the nose section with recessed panel lines. Going to be loaded up with 4 x AIM-54 Pheonix, 2 x AIM-7 Sparrows, 2 x AIM9G Sidewinders and of course 2 x drop tanks. Awaiting Squadron decals to complete the airframe.

Second what Ken/Kerick said.  Nice looking camouflage scheme.  What RAF squadron markings will be used on this WHIF?

Don't think one can really go wrong with that great gray/green RAF scheme coupled with some high visibility markings  :-*

Very cool to see a large size what if, bold choice in 1/32 and definitely the way to go with What-if subjects in my experience-- "big and brave".

great model, thanks for sharing it.

(I have wanted to do an RAF F-14 in the 111 Squadron forever, just have not been able to get to it)

Mine would have been 111 Sqn, but I couldn't get the decals for it. I had to settle for some Lightning decals which were kindly donated to me.
