NATF 1/48

What do you get if you combine the "beauty" of the F-14 with the "stealthness" of the F-22...well the answer is NATF and modeling wise, a headache...

...so here we go, Academy F-22, Italery F-14, Academy F-111...and F-18...F-16...F-I dont know what, from the sparebox...all in 1/48!

Wow!  What a beauty and it looks close enough to the concept art that anyone that says otherwise should be flogged in public and ridiculed forever more.

Envious is what I am thanks to your brief description of what kits were used to create this model.  I really wish you had some WIP images so I could wrap my head around what parts were put where but hey, it is done and we can enjoy your very well done model.

That's some special! Reminds me very much of a stealth F-111 model someone cooked up a few years back.

I hope your muse has more visual delights in store for us.  For now though, this is quite the show stopper.  I know of several others that have attempted something similar but have never seen the project completed.  You managed to get all of the odd pieces to blend together which is an accomplishment in and of itself.  Airplane pron at its best :)

Very nice bit of kit-bashing, just curious though, is the plan to have the main gear retract like the YF-22 ?

Impressive...most impressive, indeed.

Just an all-around tour de force in combining multiple kits into one seamless whole.

Thanks for your kind comments guys!!!

Now some things about "me" and my "models"...
I dont concider myself...a Super modeler, and the built has a lot space for improvments due to my limited modeling skills. The hole "Project" started as a personal joke...to myself, I didnt expect anything respectable to come out of this. It only took a couple of months for complition and I usually dont take any wip photos becouse my photographic skills are not any better than my modelling skills.

If this model is an indication of how "bad" your modelling skills are, and by extension your photography skills.... I see a Pulitzer in your future. :)

Outstanding work!

Zark,

Is the Academy F-22 kit that terrible or was it the only thing available to you for this project?

I just recently acquired a pair of the Academy kits and was impressed by the size of the box and the lay out of the parts sprues.  The Academy F-22 is certainly better than the corresponding Italeri and Revell kits which makes these much more attractive to kit-bashing.
