Parallel I-1 instead of the SM becoming MiG-19/J-6 and basis for Q-5.  This one has a big centrifugal flow turbojet as opposed to two smaller axial flow ones.

I have not gotten around incorporating the fin root drag chute compartment on this one.
Forget about his bow and arrows- why wait until that sparrow has done his deed when I can just bury him right now 'cause I'm sick and tired of hearing why he wants to have his way with the cock robin!?

Suggestion on...... naval MiG-19-2000?

I thought I would never be visiting that one.  Never say never, I guess.

Take I-1 with its afterburning centrifugal-flow turbojet (I am doing this for the sake of my mental notes idea, so it doesn't follow any of our history development, so to speak), give it a solid nose and other aerodynamic refinement, and a radar for either Derby (via Grifo maybe) or R-77 (via Kopyo) BVRAAM, as well as the companion dogfight WVRAAMs......

I'm not all that knowledgeable when it comes to aerodynamics though...... I wonder what I can do to maximize the maneuverability, perferably without having to resort to FBW......

Cross with a Ye-2 engine installation coupled with a SM-12 intake.  Alternatively, a Fantan with that engine installation and variable intakes.

Good graphic  :)
Surprising that Mig-15 wing looks fine on Mig-19.
Gives me other wing ideas:  A-6 wing for an attack version.  U-2 like wing and enlarged intake to gulp thin air for high altitude recon.

Fantan with a SU-17-style VG wing and a carefully enlarged and shaped nose for radar and/or other sensors.

Looks like one of Greg's UAV profiles of actual aircraft, but is probably some real Chinese F-6-based UAV (no further info on this):

It's only a colour change. In real life IIRC they got exported to Egypt and Iraq. How about Iranian Revolutionary guard in the Iran/Iraq war? Or any number of African countries.

Simple, but given its shape, an interesting machine to view.

I learned from the first DCS World Newsletter of 2019 that a module for the MiG-19P is in development.

On the what-if front...... a Super-6 or J-6FS along the same line as the F-100BI?

Middle: Wingtip SRAAM carriage exclusive to the J-6III, the definitive high-speed day fighter derivative of Shenyang J-6.

Bottom: A even-simpler (modelling-wise) what-if...... PL-8 WVRAAM.

Perhaps a cross between the Ye-8 and the SM-12M or a suitable J-6 variant and the J-7FS?

Nice work! Some neat ideas there.

Also really like the nose-jobbed MiG-19s. Can't really pick a favourite, though. Either the Super Mystere or 2nd/3rd generation Fishbed nose.
Cheers,
Moritz

Much fleshing-out will be needed from here.

Based on J-6III.  Reduced wingspan and increased chord length compared to regular J-6.  Two NR-30 cannons.
