After Tophe explained the name, I have a feeling I know a bit about what this will look like...or, more correctly, what you'll start off with.

I now need to speak to the Chairman of the Committee of Aircraft Naming and Underwear Elastic Waist Band Tension Sub-Group as this has revealed way too much information about Top Secret Gim-12.

I spoke to the Chairman of the Committee of Aircraft Naming and the Undersecretary for the Underwear Elastic Waist Band Tension Sub-Group and no pictures  are allowed of the Gim-12.

The Gimyarovsckaya brothers are somewhat shy to share their ideas since they are the smallest of all the many Design Bureaus so their ideas often get copied by the larger Bureaus.

But by using an experimental technology called "underwear-zippy-cam", these photos of an incomplete wind tunnel model were taken.

However many Bothans died getting us these photos.

The Under Secretary for Security of Carburettor Seals and modelling knives (a special sub-committee of the The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production) would like to know more about this technology.  It is believed that this may offer special benefits for .....

Comrade Gimper, this comment cannot help but bring to mind a whimsical comical strip based on one of the West's most decadent motion picture film productions featuring an Admiral of the space navy who looks uncannily like that enemy of our glorious submarines, the Giant Squid:

The Bothans are a very competitive species. They do not like to lose. He who dies first wins.

So after drinking many bottles of Stolichnaya in memory of their departed comrades the next group of Bothans volunteers (they all died as well) broke into the Gim Design Bureau and took these pictures showing the advanced construction state of the Gim-12.

The actual purpose of the six sided, hollow metallic item has the Bothan scientists puzzled. I could be a Stargate.

Ah, Comrade Gimper, the Council of Ministers for The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production were most saddened to hear of the losses of our Bothan compatriots and hereby posthumously award them the Red Fanbelt Award (Third Class) for their sacrifices in the name of Soviet Solidarity and Worker's Unity!

Poor Natalia, our Fourth Deputy Assistant Communication Clerk (Night Shift) was very enamored by the sleek lines of the Gim-12 and is also quite curious about the "Stargate-like" object seen in the released photos.

Please tell Natalia that rumour has it that the Gim-12 is very close to completion. The Bothan's are preparing another team to infiltrator the Gim design Bureau and hope to have some pictures soon. And maybe a survivor or two.

The Gim-12 consists of an Academy Mig-21, X-29 wings and main landing gear, F-16 stabilators, main gear doors and nose gear, brass F-100 pitot tube and Amodel Yak-25 decals.

Paint is Tamiya spray bomb TS-30 plus touch ups.

CW,

Excellent work on the silver.

Did you do some brush work on the panels to give it a multi hue effect, or is that just the way the model was made, and then unmade by you.

Bravo.

JM:

I start off with the Tamiya grey primer. Then depending on what I the finish I want,  I use either the TS-30 Silver Leaf or the AS-12 Bare Metal Silver colour.

Then I mask off different sections and paint with a brush to get the mixed metal finish.

Carl,

Sweet. You got the desired effect, wonderfully so!

Top shelf modeling.

John

PS: if you are looking for absolutely amazing silver, which brush paints nearly as good as it sprays, I can not recommend Vallejo's Metal Color more highly. I have recently purchased several and there are many great shades. Grumpy old Bill has them for $13 a pop, but you get double the amount of a normal $5 Vallejo paint so it isn't that much more expensive. And you can use next to nothing, I oft just scoop up the drop that forms on the top after shaking and get good coverage. It dries quickly and needs a couple of coats because it is thin, but it is the best silver I have ever used, bar none.

Comrade Gimperkolov! Once again, we of The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production are in awe of the genius and dedication of your design bureau.  This design is sure to strike terror into those enemies of the state foolish enough to challenge the peaceful peoples of our great nation!

I see that your latest submission has drawn the curiosity of the Subcommittee for Decal Solution Quality Control and Tire Pressure Regulating of The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production:
