DSC-304 "Daedalus class"
« on: September 17, 2014, 08:17:01 PM »
Hi all,

Recently, I started a CAD work to do a Daedalus-class from Stargate series. I drawn it in 1/400th scale but after thinking, I'll do it in 1/1000th when I'll start the physical build.

Some pics of the current status of this project :

Still some work to do on engines and detailling the surface of the ship before starting cut the plastic card.

Hope you like it  :)

wicked! I hope you do make it - it's a distinct looking carrier for sure.
I thought about scratch building one ages ago but at the time, I didn't have the skill to do it - and still not sure even now. But, there is a resin kit of this ship out - although it's tiny (like 10-12cm tiny - great for a desktop model - just not a shelf queen)
Anyway, as I said - i do hope you'll make it. I'm always keen to learn how to scratch build from others, so I'll take a front row seat :)

1) A model doesn't get jealous when you look at another model
2) A model doesn't yell at you for spending money on another model

Hi Simon,

There is a moment I wanted to scratch one but no documentation à this moment and I couldn't do the CAD Model to make the plans. Recently I saw again SG-1/SGA (all of them) and, this idea came back. This time, I have doc and I made the 3D model in about 2-3 evenings  :P

Finally, I started the build after I saw your comment and for the moment, it's easiest than I tought (it's my first full scratch model).
Only need :
- Styrene sheet
- ruler/square
- pencil
- cutter
- millimeter paper
- Tamya styrene glue
- plans (of course)

If you want, I can send you my plans in pdf format ready to print in A4 for a 1/1000th model   ;)
They're not finish, I do them when I need one. For the moment, I only print the one which are upper so this one is ready.

AWESOME!!  We love Stargate - and it's such a shame that no mainstream manufacturers have tackled them!  CouldI trouble you for a set of those plans when you have finished with them? :)

So where are the F-302s?  ;)

Thanks  :)
I'm agree with you... There is so many subject to do and a great potential. I'm dreaming about a Destiny model :-*
This is my first Sci-Fi project, maybe not the last.
No problem for the plan. I'm searching a solution for giving the CAD model too with a free software to read it and take measure on it (to divide by 2.5 for the 1/1000th against the 1/400th 3D model)

So where are the F-302s?  ;)

In my mind... I want to do one but I don't know how... But if I make one, it will be on 1/72 or 1/48   8) (but "C'est pas demain la veille")

My last progress :
