During the interwar period, the German flag carrier Deutsche Luft Hansa had built up a lucrative network of long range airmail routes, the longest of which included transatlantic ones. During the mid 1930s, the airline continued to hold a strong interest in the further development of its long distance routes; accordingly, Luft Hansa formulated a requirement for a new large flying boat to serve on its transatlantic routes.[2] Specifics of this requirement included sufficient space to accommodate a minimum of 24 passengers. In response, the German aircraft manufacturer Hamburger Flugzeugbau decided to design a new larger flying boat, which was initially designated the Ha 222; the company's design team was headed by Dr. Richard Vogt.

Dragon USMC M1A1HA Baghdad kit painted in the NATO camo to do an OIF vehicle. The wheels and tracks will be added later. I got the wheels painted but not the rubber and the tracks aren’t painted yet. The M240 is not attached yet and the .50cal still needs painting. I used Tamiya NATO black, brown and green for the camo. I dropped the kit on the floor but luckily it was carpeted but still some paint chipped off and the rear hull separated and the putty fell out. I will glue the rear hull back together but not worrying about the putty so there will be a gap back there. I don’t do contests anyway. I need to do the touchups as you can see but I also noticed I forgot the NATO brown on the barrel. All the stowage will be added last.

I am doing mine with the mine plough but it isn’t finished yet. I want to do mine somewhat similar to the one in the image below. I don’t have the fuel bladder though so mine will be after they ditched the fuel bladders. Does anyone know how the markings are on the left side? Is the inverted V at the front of the side skirt like this, ^ D/2 or is the D/2 at the front like this D/2 ^?

Hi Claymore.  No need for the sympathy.  The prototype Mega Mule Mk.1 was just that, an experiment to see what could be done.  While along the way there was some "permanence" to the modifications so disassembly to continue the process was a dead end on progress going forward with the existing Mega Mule Mk.1.

The next iteration of Mule will continue with the modifications once I can get the cargo platform a bit less warped.  Out of the box, the Glencoe Mule suffers from major warping issues with the cargo platform.  So much so that I have had to remove the side railings on the cargo platform in order to even try and make the thing flat.  A minor win on that effort is to take two of the cargo platforms and glue the things together to give it more strength but one platform looks like a a "C" in appearance from the end on view.  The second platform has a bowl shape to it so combining the two is probably the best solution to the problem.  Getting the damned things flat enough to do so is the challenge.

You have my sympathy and heart-felt respect - sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t. For what it’s worth, I am hugely impressed that you are moving on to the Mk 2 - remember, that which does not kill us makes us stronger!  :icon_alabanza:
