Boeing KC-48A Dreamtanker
« on: February 22, 2013, 03:46:04 AM »
i built a tanker/transport version of the Boeing 787.
i had been playing with this idea for a while and finally got arround to actually making it.
the model is a Revell 1/144 Boeing 787-8, converted into a tanker with a pair of HDU's under the wings (cutted revell 1/144 F-16A tanks) and a Flying boom (scratchbuild)

the aircraft has been painted up in my own New Flanders Air Force markings (my what-if country).
decals are from the kit (stencilling) and homemade (roundels and encryptions).

there's still a patch of grey that needs to be repainted, had to sand it down to add a support part (tail heavy)

on the bench:
-various models

on the drawing board:
-various 1/72 TinTin aircraft
-1/72 Eurocopter Tiger (Belgian Army)
-various other 1/72 and 1/144 aircraft

That is nice, Mr Nils! I like the Dreamliner and, to be honest, hadn't even thought of a tanker conversion but this turned out very well! I quite like what you've done with the flying boom and the paintscheme looks like she could double as a VIP machine. Great job.

A beautiful piece of work, sir.  That's a nicely done flying boom and the markings are simple but attractive.
