Title: Fisher Models and Pattern
Post by: Jeffry Fontaine on February 21, 2012, 11:22:17 AM
CyberModeler has uploaded a couple of images showing us a sneak peek of the Fisher Models and Pattern 1/32nd scale F4D Skyray (http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/fisher.shtml).

Note the Tamiya 1/48 kit set up next to the 1/32 scale kit prototype.

So for all of you fans of the F4D Skyray, there will soon be a much larger model of the Skyray for your modeling enjoyment.

Oh, that just begs for scale-o-rama into a bomber...maybe a bit like the Mirage IV is to the Mirage III.

Hopefully, people will keep buying Paul's 1/32nd '50s USN stuff so he can afford to do one of his dreams;
1/48 British experimental jet prototypes.

Perhaps adding F-105 Fieri intakes to allow higher performance and a very aesthetically-pleasing and eye-catching appearance.

Skyray is totally cool OOB.
Could not agree more with GTX_Admin "Oh, that just begs for scale-o-rama into a bomber"  perfect as 1/72

According to what he posted on LSP a few months back it's in cooperation with
someone else, and that entity will releasing the kit rather than Paul.

He didn't name names.  ;D

Paul Fisher's house and shop were in Paradise, CA and as far as Paul can ascertain
both were destroyed in the fire.
He, his wife Suzy, and their two Great Danes made it out safely and are now in
Colorado with family.
Paul is an old friend so his losses feel personal.

Glad to hear he and his family are safe. I've been watching all that is happening on the news here, really grim ----

Don't know the man but, having seen images of those fires, I'm very glad he & his family are among the survivors.

As happy as I am to hear Paul and co are safe and well - it was nail-biting seeing almost real-time updates on LSP via a member in touch with Paul - the loss of his kits and masters/moulds is a terrible one to the community. His kits are absolutely gorgeous with beautiful detail, and there are a few I'd love to own given enough money. I've read very, very few negative comments about Fisher kits.

Awful for he and Suzy personally, and awful for the modelling world.

He, his wife Suzy, and their two Great Danes made it out safely

That's the important part.

For what it's worth, I saw this on Hyperscale.

Its a gofundme page for the Fishers - hopefully it'll help them get back on their feet faster.
