The only picture ever taken of Concorde flying at Mach 2 (2172 km/h or 1,350 mph).
Taken in April 1985 by Adrian Meredith, from an RAF Tornado attack fighter, which only rendezvoused with Concorde for 4 minutes over the Irish Sea: The Tornado was rapidly running out of fuel, struggling to keep up with Concorde at Mach 2.

I'm mainly sharing it for the fact that the Tornado couldn't keep up... Shows what a great piece of engineering the Concorde was.

Wow!!! Beauty in Motion.

Is it just me or do I see the pilot of the Concorde mooning the Tornado crew?  :o

We really need a French, 3-engined fighter (French Viper or NR-349 anyone?) to complete the set: 1 engine, 2 engines, 3 ...

Interestng...two GE90s have only slightly less thrust than 4 engines (regardless of type).  Now if one was to also take into account the lower drag/weight, it might be feasible to have a twin engined 747...any takers?

Columbine II Flight.

After descending from 9,500ft to about 1,500ft for our final few miles to Mt. Pleasant, TX, Columbine II joined up on the B-25's six-o'clock position once more with Lake Bob Sandlin in the background. Classic lineage - formation shot of the legendary NAA fighters, taken over Fort Wayne Indiana.

The idea was Vlado Lenoch's who owned at the time Moonbeam McSwine. It's interesting to note that despite the initial impression of the aircraft being totally dissimilar, you can actually notice the design transition from WW2 prime fighter to a 'Nam Fast-Mover via the exquisite F-86 of the Korean War era.

This is why they now do separation trials in the wind tunnel, first.  Near-field aerodynamics can do all sorts of unique and interesting flows.

Not cool for the passengers on both A/C but this never should have happened.

A major ground collission occured at Jakarta-Halim Airport in darkness when the Boeing 737 has commenced its to take-off from runway 24.

At a point about 1000 meters down the runway, its left outer wing hit the tail of the smaller ATR-42 aircraft.

The force of the collision literally ripped the entire tail off and and the left wing of the ATR off. About 90% of tail and the left wing from the wingtip to the left engine were missing.

Full story here.
