Title: Story’s “Coastal 'Lugger' (18mm or 1/96th scale)”

Long ago and far away, there was a complete and fully rigged build of this 1/124th scale kit.

Years and decades passed, the masts were shattered and yet it escaped the trash can, time and again. Eventually what was left was waterlined to become something you'd see on the Potomac during the Civil War.

It deserves a better second life, the same way some schooners in the western Pacific were fitted with engines and lost their sails before WW2. Known as 'Luggers', they supported small squadrons of pearling ships or plied local trade routes.

Then the war came and along with it, Japanese confiscations. Inevitably, these vessels became targets. Inspiration for this particular build came from this photo -

So, for planning purposes that gives us this
