Daz3D (http://www.daz3d.com/) is offering Daz Studio Pro 4 (a 3D figure modeling program), Bryce 7 pro (landscape and figure modeler) and Hexagon 2.5, a generic 3D modeler as free downloads, no strings attached. These are legal downloads, since they produce the software. You have to sign up for their newsletter to download the software (many, many megs worth) but it's worth it for Bryce and Hexagon.
Don't forget to download the serial numbers as well!

Hexagon can export to STL, which is the standard file format for 3D printers.
