Curtis Wright Hawk III diorama potential

Tripped over this propaganda poster made from a newsreel still taken in Shanghai 1937 and wondered what aircraft it was.




Turns out it was a Curtis Wright Hawk III


What's interesting is that the Japanese period artwork shows a blue finish, yet it's accepted the Chinese painted them green.

Yes, but the photo was probably B&W & the artist had probably never seen the real thing, whereas he would have seen Japanese soldiers, dirt, grass, weeds & the sky with clouds in it. ;)
