exhibition of collection of seaplane models in red-yellow-blue
« on: September 21, 2013, 10:48:53 PM »

Dear BTS-ers,

here are a few pictures from my collection of seaplane models, which I present in an exhibition which is a "collection of collections", where all sort of things can be seen (beer bottles, giraffe objects, plastic ducks, post stamps, etc). It is shown in containers with windows, in a center park of the city of Grenoble, France.

My collection consists of a few hundreds of seaplane models, painted in either red, yellow or blue (because I like those colors); some of them are fictitious i.e., what-if seaplane versions of planes that weren't.

So it might contribute to the diffusion of the what-if concept ...

Best,

Eric

On that picture :
I guess I see dozens of asymmetric aircraft! Probably this is a misreading but that is teasing... Show us more and more, please. We are the ones to appreciate them deeply, more than visitors of the park maybe (that do not know modelling at all or think this must show Real things...) ;)

I am really glad you like these colors, because they're cool indeed ; and I find they bring out the shape of planes independently of their origins in geography or history, or military use.

well, maybe you have a personal perspective making you see asymmetric ones here, I don't think I have many, even if I have a few. There are some zwillinged aircraft though :

or, less expected :

please do!  ;)
if some of these ideas can inspire people to do better, with more skills than I have, or other coloring schemes, then I am perfectly happy with that of course.

Single-float Lightnings!  :-*

Hmmm, should be possible to have the outrigger floats fold into the vacated former main landing gear bays.
Cheers,

You're welcome! thanks for the bright colors!
I haven't tried a single central float P-38 yet ... maybe one day?
and the assymmetry is astonishing, as always.

another two-floats I did is this one  ;)
