That camo scheme is just gorgeous! Subtle, yet effective and very believable!

Your Gnat is worthy of the blue ribbon in my book!

And no, I'm not dead!!! I just found a job and this has considerably reduced my amount of play time  ;D ;D nevertheless I love my job and still manage to glue some plastic ^^ so here is the latest addition to my collection, Mexico's Rafale N

Both Rafale N and M have found export market, yay Dassault!

The Rafale family is expanding, but export customer seem to prefer twin seat aircraft, I should research why that is...

And there is more to come from Dassault Aviation

Hope you like, and hopefully till soon with another finished project

Keep on whiffing!!
cheers

Hey hey,

I'm back    not that I stopped modeling, only I got really really really (you get where I'm going with this right…) slow!!! New job, new hours (in the evening) and a new home needing a lot of work reduced my modeling time even more. Somehow, I got around to spray a little paint on 2 birds.

first, my mig-19 or FT-6 (future US Navy Agressor) (Trumpeter 1/48)

second, Devastator floatplane (future Turkisch Air force) (Great wall hobby 1/48, strongly recommended!!!)

I also forgot to present you with the last 2 I finished in 2013 (what is it already september 2014 and I haven't finished anything this year…)

Finally, these a the 4 last birds I will present to you in this form. i intend to document future builds better to be able to make step by step presentations of their construction. If i were you, I'dd keep my eyes open for an incoming yf-23 in scale 1/48, hint hint  ;) ;)

Talk to you soon

cheers!!

Hey hey

Here is the start of the month report regarding the pile of models that are currently built at the Flappydaffy Whifyard.

First, my YAK 3 (Eduard 1/48) that is in painting mode, scheme has been chosen, green camo over a Sail and metal frame. (Second picture)

My YF-23 who is assembled, but due to a difference in thickness of the wing and the fuselage a lot of putty still has to be sanded (boring TV shows, where are you??!!)

A RAH-66 Comanche, for the Canadians that is also in paint mode (smart move was to paint the white last  :banghead: :banghead: :bang head:)

I also started (no, 45 models started is not enough!!  :drink: :drink:) at my local hobby store to demonstrates various products and initiate people to airbrush painting. A nice little Piper Cub in 1/35 scale (Bronco). All interior is OOB except for the floor that has been replace by a wooden piece (easier to cut than for me to learn how to paint realistic wood effects). Nerve testing part of the build are the seat belts, only the buckles are provide, the fabric has to be cut from tape en inserted (4h for 6 straps…) but the result is good

And finally the Devastator, panels have been washed and decals placed, matt varnish is also done and of course then it happened, I notice finger marks + super glue vapors in the canopy  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :bang head:

so the Devastator is now a convertible. canopy will come back once the flaps are in place. And afterwards the last bits will be glued (probe and antenna). And this will be my X-mas miracle as it will be the first kit finished this year

That's all folks!!!

C ya next time ;)

The Devastator is progressing really really really slow (speed is proportional to the amount of work) and I have like no time at all for modeling but I got around to give a start of paint on my Piper Cub. Not entirely convinced but not unhappy either. I'll see how this works out.

Later all ;)

Of course, since my stash of models is through the roof and my concentration is deeply impressed by that soooooooo

I started a couple of new builds  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :drink: :drink:

let's start with a kit bashing, I had a grumman skyrocket, well known for its uhm… unconventional look  ;D ;D and I'm kinda into floatplanes right now so I started digging in the pile of discarded models at the local hobby club and tadaaaa an old and badly built Kingfisher later, we have a GRumman WaterRocket ;)

check back with me within 6 months for the next stage of the build (I also got realistic  ;) )

I'm also building a companion for the Devastator, a Wildcatfish for the Finish war of continuation (floatplane + Fjords). The interior received some Eduard photo etch, just needs some paint now.

If Hobbyboss is listening, I would like an explanation for the engine. I have to pieces, both with a sunk alignment structure and I wonder how this would help the fit. Turns out it doesn't…

And now that this has been said, time for the big news…

Drum roll please!!

I finished a kit this year!!!! It's an early Saturnalian miracle!!! First kit for November first, about time ;)

And that is it for today

C ya later dudes!
