After an extended push back away from the bench for no apparent good reason, I'm starting to get my priorities back on track. On of which is getting back to the hobby I love. Here's one of the projects I've been chipping away at for awhile. A Super Hornet in what if VFA-161 colors.....

Glad to see you back at it Eddie.  Nice looking Bug in that retro-like scheme.  Make me wonder what it would look like in glossy sea blue with markings from a WW2 Hellcat or Corsair.

Thank y'all for the nice welcome back. I appreciate it! 8)

The VFA-161 Bug in the pipeline in conjunction with a few other projects. They are all builds from the box because I thought I needed to simplify my work for a while, get back to my roots as it were. I've also got a flightdeck and Wildcat (coustesy of Johnny Shabazz) that I have photos of right now.

Scratch build parts for the one lost the parts blackhole that swallowed them up somehow.. ;)

Actually, it's two. This one and one of the old Monograms with wings that fold. Also, since I came back here, I have an idea for the old 1/32 F4U I've started as well. It all depends on a set of old decals staying together. They will make or break the bent wing bird. More pix soon to show what's in the pipe line soon....

Well, I'm still not Johnny on the Spot about anything to do with modeling these days, so I'll just post what I've got. Building the old Monogram kit right along side the newer HobbyBoss is interesting. Lots of detail on the HB..... that gets covered up when you're done.  :)

And a little history... Here's a pic of the little Model Whisperer in his dungeon back in the 70s. You can see a 1/32 Corsair to the left, on the table is the yellow lightning bolts of a 4 plane Blue Angel Display WIP and the USS Arizona on the shelf. Bean bag, G.I. Joes, Legos and maroon pants are a dead give away pretaining to the time period. ;D

It's great to see the Model Whisperer in his youth, Eddie!

If you hit a spot on the decals, drop me a note. I've got some star-and-meatballs and 1943 red outline U.S. that might help.

I guess what I didn't realize about looking for my mojo was that it required a blood sacrifice. I accidentally stuck myself with #11 while working on my Wildcats and almost immediately got the idea for the Bearsair. Pix soon. :)

Certainly an interesting combination of parts with the F4U and F6F.  I am liking the idea a lot now that I see the body parts and wing in the same picture.

Thank you Jeffry. I actually pinched the idea from Mr. Howling Mouse and his famous Morsair. I just happened to have a Corsair and Bearcat ready to donate their bodies to science. The only change is I had to go back to the original wing tops as the old Hawk wings ( got as part of a gift from my FIL bought in a garage sale) have ailerions that is too big to spend time fixing.  :)
