1/72 Gloster Peregrine PR.I
« on: May 16, 2018, 01:34:43 AM »
Today marks the anniversary of the first flight of Britain's first jet aircraft, the Gloster-Whittle E.28/39. See the aircraft (without engine) on display in our Flight gallery.

So today is a good day to take the wraps off my Gloster Peregrine PR.I.

It is Eastern Express/Frog mold. All flying surfaces are from an Airfix P-80C. Recce pod is a modified drop tank.

A very convincing combination of parts that do go together very well.

Thats a great combination of components, looking really cool. A PRU blue finish would look great.

Nice one!

Wow - what a great idea! The P-80C flying surfaces are a perfect match! The required surgery looks far less extensive than I would have expected.

Frank3k beat me to the finish line. Must the extra drag from the drop tanks.

This flying bathtub is done. I used the postwar PRU paint scheme as I already have too many all PRU blue builds.

The canopy supports are thicker as the Peregrine was pressurized (and I could not get my hand steady enough to get a thin line).

Fantastic! I still like your combination of flying surfaces and overall color and markings better than mine.

A most excellent creation Carl.  Wing tip tanks are a bonus feature!
