USN Black Gang
« on: April 02, 2021, 08:42:37 PM »
After I posted the photo of the Black Cats PBY I thought maybe an extended war would have resulted in additional USN Black units being stood up.

So taking that thought process through to plastic, I am proposing the following additional Black assets:
  • F4J-1B "Black Ponies". This is a P-82 designed to carry early flying bombs similar to the ASM-N-2 Bat
  • F3K-6 "Black Birds". This is an alt-timeline Fairchild "Falcon" built Seafire MK. XVII in USN service.
  • SOB-1B "Black Fishes". This is a Brewster build Fairey Swordfish on floats. This was used to transport Special Ops troops to and from the many Pacific islands.
Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

I was going to build this but I couldn’t find decent Mk 13 torpedoes. Any thoughts?

I buy most of my niggly bits from Hannants. Even though they are in the UK, I have had no issues (touch wood) with them shipping to Canada.

They are listing three 1/72 aftermarket MK XIII torpedo options

Here we have about 200 parts in a very loose formation. Hopefully they will soon be recognizable.
