AiM is doing a 1/48 Blue Steel transporter truck too from what I understand, they already have it in 1/72 scale

Yes, a 1/48 AVRO Blue Steel Missile...now where be my 1/48 HP Victor to go with it (resin or vacuform would be fine!):

Sanger has a Vulcan in 1/48 listed as a future release, Greg.  http://www.sangereng.fsnet.co.uk/V%20Bombers.htm

I don't like the Vulcan though (and have already had plenty of opportunities to acquire a 1/48 one - both resin and vacuform).  I want a Victor!! :icon_punal:

Touche ...

I stand by my comment though.  I actually prefer both the Victor and Valiant over the Vulcan.

an update on their Valiant B.2 conversion from AIM:

Quote
We announced the conversion to let people know that it is development, when  there was an upsurge in interest at the beginning of the year. The conversion design was just about finished, when this sudden interest developed and a lot more photos appears, meaning that we could add much more detail (correct wheel pattern, undercarriage detail, internal detail for the wheel wells, etc.). A a result I am redesigning a lot of the earlier design, which takes time, but I would far rather delay production and make it as detailed and accurate as possible.

And then we'll go and cover it in Ministry of Space markings and mount an SR.53 rocket plane on top of it.... >:D

You're all dead wrong, everyone knows the best of the V-bomber quartet is the Vindicator!

A 1/48 Blue Steel would be a pretty cool model, actually.

Although not my preferred scale (surprise, surprise!), the option of adding Viper engines is interesting.  I wonder how one would go adding these to a Lancaster or Lincoln bomber for added take off boost and perhaps speed over target?

Could they also be added to other underwing Merlin /Griffon power aircraft such as the Mosquito?

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

That's a nice idea Carl, but the Vipers were installed in the outer nacelles on the Shackleton, right where you would have your undercarriage in a Mosquito nacelle ---  The Jet Mosquito would be a better way to go -----

Well that is unacceptable.  ;) Okay, I didn't do my research on where the Vipers were installed.

It would be draggy as hell, screw up the wing aeodynamics, add weight, reduce payload/range etc.
A pointless exercise on something as small as the Mossie.
