That Nimrod turret looks modern enough that you could swap it onto something from the 1950s/1960s, and the gun is, of course universal. Walker Bulldog perhaps, as an alternative to the M-42 Duster? Comet or Cromwell as a means of using up obsolete hulls? You could even give it range-only radar like an M-163...

Comet hull would be a good choice for British Army or maybe a Centurion if the turret diameter is a bit large.

Mights as well use the equivalent turret to the Crusader III AA:

Though I suppose you could say that the Nimrod turret design was an alternate contender.

Some new ones:

Note that in an odd turn-around, the first tank is 1/48 and the glider is 1/35. :-\

Might be better off just applying that stuff with a byro in the appropriate colour.

Best not tell FinsRin about this or he will be looking at converting it into a multi-engine jumbo load lifter :)

***addendum: the box art suggests that the kit might include the figures and the equipment stacked near the Horsa, that would indeed be a nice addition to the kit if that is the case.  Though the parachute supply containers are not really necessary, some of the other items would certainly fit right in.

Now we just need a 1/35 Stirling tug.   What I'd really like to see would be a 1/35 Hamilcar, to pose a Tetrarch/Locust with...

Jeff, the Horsa could carry supply containers under the wing centre-section, three each side.

Thanks Jon, that is nice to know.  I do not recall ever having seen an image of the Horsa sporting such things so it is nice to learn something new.  :)

The ability to carry the containers dates from the original idea of using Horsas to drop paratroops.  It was seen as a way of increasing the number dropped on a given mission, the glider being towed home and released over the home airfield where it could land and be reused.  I can't remember ever reading of that being done nor the containers being carried on operations.

Hanging for the Lloyd Carrier.

Currently building the Airborne Jeep with 6 Pounder AT gun.
The jeep is nice, but very fiddly with the usual parts for the sake of adding to the parts count.. is there really any reason to have six PE latch catches on the bonnet when they could have been moulded on ?

Some clever thinking at the same time, you get 3 options for the front suspension with fixed settings, turn right, turn left and directly forward, which does make it nice and easy to set the suspension.

I like the gun crew's regulation poses.  ;D

Probably due to only having training footage/pics to work from.

Wonder if there are any images of the para's artillery in action at Arnhem? Pretty sure they wouldn't have been in regulation poses.

Still, it's a common fault with artillery crew figures - & figures in general. Model companies should use their imagination a little more for their figures.

Yes, there are plenty of photos of the Paras using 75mm guns at Arnhem.  And yes, they weren't in regulation poses, particularly when the enemy arty was landing.  They were dug in there, quite deep, which would have made direct fire impossible.  IIRC they dug in and around the Vicarage.  I have a book on the battery in the battle somewhere (IIRC I lent it to my thieving brother ;D ).
