This is my first ever sub. I've never built or painted one before but I've always wanted to.
So, Expo is coming up and this has been built for the display to fit in with our theme. I'm considering it my "practice" sub as I want to build the Hobby Boss one - you know - the one that is actually correct. Not going to go down that road coz we all know about this kit's ...shall we say "short comings", but in the end, it looks like the movie prop, so I don't care. I had to quickly scratch up the rear doors, using screen caps and studio photos as references. I was a bit slack though because I didn't do anything about the inlet holes. Never mind.
Pics:
I painted in in Tamiya NATO Black, Rubber black and a bit of Flat black very lightly misted over certain areas for shadow etc I tried to play a bit with the application of the clear coat - randomizing it a bit but the photos don't really convey the effect very well.
Anyway, hints and tips about painting will always be appreciated
Thanks for looking

I don't know, and neither do the British. I might have to run this by Skip Tyler to see what he thinks
Must have to watch that movie again - it's been a while since I last saw it
I bought the Hobby Boss Typhoon a couple of months ago and I must say - it's way ahead in accuracy and detail than the Dragon one. Although the tiles seem a little to deep to me
