That'd make a great diorama! I'm wondering about location. Anyone know the make of the 4x4 with trailer?

Don't know the make but it looks like it could be made with a cut down Canadian Chevrolet truck cab & chassis.

Wouldn't be surprised if it either was made that way or was made by Chevrolet Canada.

The poster said Marville France. The 4x4 is a Unimog. Maybe a model 406 or 411?

Yep, the Unimog 411 would be the beast:

Thanks folks! Just one of the many reasons that I love this forum  :-*

Yep, the Unimog 411 would be the beast:

Nice one Guy! A perfect match. My first thought had been Unimog but, obviously, I didn't dig deep enough. (I had also wondered about the Steyr-Puch Haflinger ... but scale and details/shapes were off.)

Actually, it's closer to 650 per revetment; so, about 1300 for both. ;)

So now, instead of rivets, it's down to drum counting...
Would be marching to the beat of his own drum, if he didn't detest marching to any drumbeat at all so much.

That's either a very good model or a photoshop.

There was only one prototype and this picture from Wikipedia shows it in pretty good shape. It was in fairly good condition - but not flyable - when it arrived at Bell.

I think you'll find that the first photo is how & where it was originally located, Frank, or where it was moved to before the recovery boffins got to it (after the GI's had relieved it of various souvenirs?):

You'll notice that it never seems to be in exactly the same position in any of the photo's.

Thanks Guy. No wonder it was deemed "unflyable" when it got to the US.

Imperial Japanese Army soldiers make banzai cheers on the seized BT tanks of Soviet-Mongolia forces during the battle of Khalkhin Gol in July 13, 1939 near Hulun Buir, Inner Mongolia, China. The battle of Khalkhin Gol was the border conflict between Mongoria and Manchukuo, backed by the Soviet Union and the Imperial Japan respectively, between May 11 to September 16, 1939.
