Mark's latest sheet includes a Mig-23MS and a F-7II/J-7B from the 4477th TES aka the Red Eagles under Project Constant Peg.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

I did not know that F6Fs were used in the European Theatre.

I'd never really thought about it but, with the US Navy in the area, of course they were.

The other thing I think most of us overlook is Operation Dragoon, the invasion (?) of Southern France by predominantly US & French troops.

The RN used Corsairs over Norway in attacks against the Tirpitz, I wonder if they used Hellcats over Europe too

Why ever not?  If that was what the Squadron was equipped with, that was what it used, no matter where it served.

There was a fight between FAA Wildcats and Me-109s during one of the Norway strikes. The Wildcats won-four 109s went down.

I guess because many (myself included) have seen the Corsair and Hellcat as Pacific types. I've learned a lot from this thread!

Eric Brown has some interesting comments ISR about both the Fw190A and Fw190D in his book on air combat.  He considered the Fw190A an excellent all round aircraft and the Fw190 as an excellent interceptor.
