It's astounding. Time is fleeting. Madness.... takes it toll.
Just be sure you have correct change.

How about a "warnings were listened to", and "appropriate actions were taken", thereby "averting an upcoming armed conflict".

John Nott doesn't gut the RN, perhaps they even manage to retain a conventional carrier capability, thereby deterring the Argentinian annexation of the Falklands.

The US tells Sadam in no uncertain terms they will defend Kuwait and pre-deploys forces before the invasion, reversing some of the peace dividend and its associated project cancellations.

Stalin realises Germany is a threat and moves to contain rather than enable them.
France gets its act together in the interwar period and actually builds up a credible force to oppose Hitler in the late 1930s (Two Roads to War has a lot on just how unprepared and unready they were, as well as on how disorganized (that's a suitably polite term) they were).

Hmm, perhaps a commercial version of a military transport?  A Lockheed 500 (civil C-5) in "Autoplane" (the airliner division of Autotrain) markings, for example.

How about a yearlong quick build (no more than 48 hours) build? Something like Brian's 2 in 24? I just put together a Bandai Bexm 15 Portanova robot I know nothing about and it was an enjoyable palate cleanser.

Simple.  Make it a one-day group build with an extension of 364 days (or 365 days for leap year)

I think Frank was suggesting something that would be ongoing throughout the year like the Clear Your Workbench GB. This would give people the opportunity to schedule time for it when it's most convenient.

If I've misunderstood what Frank meant may he set me straight.

The way I've seen Blitzes done as board GBs is that the typical GB timeframe is at play and participants can do as many blitz builds as they want within the GB.

The standard Blitz Build is 24 hours but usually you can beak it up into two consecutive 12 hour blocks as the 'old guy' blitz option. This is because many of us aren't up to the rigors of an all-day modeling marathon anymore and the (usually over-night) break allows things to dry/set/cure.

I hope that helped explain a little to those who aren't familiar.

Ok - we could probably do it (for both profiles and physical builds and maybe even for stories).  To ensure fairness we will probably require a start photo (showing for example unassembled kit and date) and then final picture(s) also dated.

Good thinking Mr GTX and it aligns with how a blitz GB usually goes.

The idea is post a start pic with a clock and then a few updates and final pics with the clock.

The posts themselves can serve as a time-stamp as well. Usually things are pretty loose because no "winners" are chosen. One wins by completing their model within the blitz.

Extra points for posting your snacks, beverages and/or lunch. :D

I once blitzed a kit that was so horrid I was tempted to post pics of the pharmaceuticals I'd need to finish it.

If each kit came with a chocolate bar at little or no cost, I would be both broke and have no room left.
Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Can we have a sprue of crisps (potato chips) instead, any flavour except salt and vinigar.
