LF: 48th scale Contra-Rotating Propeller Parts
« on: February 05, 2012, 03:29:49 AM »
Does anyone know a good source for contra-props in 1/48?

I am thinking of something along the lines of the units used on some late model Spitfires/Seafires (see below), but would rather not be buying whole kits just to remove the propellers.

Greg

Sanger make a 1/48 scale Shackleton and the prop blades are in white metal and come as separate items, it might be worht an email to see if they would sell you just the blades, unfortunately the spinners are vacuform but you might be able to get those too.

That particular aircraft in the photo Greg actually has a Shackleton prop, but I'm not sure what they did to get prop clearance with the ground, the Spitfires are about 11'-0" in diameter and the Shack's are 12'-6"
