Remembering which F-35 variant is which is easy. As we joked on the program:
A is for Asphalt, the Air Force version
B is for Beach, the USMC version
C is for Carrier, the Navy version
Given the commonality designed into the aircraft, you could, if you were willing to pay for it in both money and extra weight, get a F-35A with the probe and drogue refueling set up of the F-35B & C and I'd love to see some country do that for maximum versatility in refueling.
