I seem to remember marderman saying that he was packing in modelmaking.

I can recognize that sentiment, as artistic juices ebb and flow. Anyone in touch with him should reach out and let him know his creations were appreciated.

Hello friends,
I'm still alive, I've been busy with other things for the last 2 years. I finished my last model in summer 2020. Then everything is packed. Two houses renovated with my family. No time and no desire to build kits. I had only occasionally looked in this forum and mostly only "market place". Yesterday I came across the subject of "Marder" again, and what do I see, I'm missed. A pretty Fire-Marder. I still have some Marder-kits and also some ideas for other versions. It will be a while before I've finished my  room and workbench in the other house.  Sometimes I think it's easier to stop making models. But at 2 shows I had started another Mexas.

Welcome back, Marderman. :D

Hope you get your hobby room set up soon - I've been watching your work many years even before you came to this site.  Loved your Leo 1 Fire-fighter models

Hello,
The first Marders are in Greece. The Greek army recently swapped recently ex GDR BMP1 sent to the Ukraine for ex Bundeswehr Marder SzPz.

Camo looks awesome!  8)

Would have rather seen them with more blue and yellow on it, though.  :uuu:

Welcome back, Didi !  You have indeed been missed  :D

Glad to see this swap arrangement producing results for Ukraine. So, that Greek Marder is on your (hypothetical) future build list, right?  ;D

Actually, I think you'll find it's a Russian BMP-1AM "Basurmanin" (upgrade entering Russian service in February 2022), whether it was being operated by the Russians or Ukrainians at the time of its demise I can't say.

[Note: One of the give-away's is the two hatches on the left side of the hull forward of the turret. Another is the turret, itself.]

From the V markings on the turret, it's may be Russian.

And the BMP's UTD-20 diesel was kind enough to pose for the camera

Also I think that a Marder turret's cupola would be on the turret's right hand side.
Forget about his bow and arrows- why wait until that sparrow has done his deed when I can just bury him right now 'cause I'm sick and tired of hearing why he wants to have his way with the cock robin!?
