Short Stirling

Been reading up on the Stirling developments.  There were several interesting ideas for the Short S.34 "Ideal Bomber" Stirling program.

Shorts tendered 2 modified Stirlings, a single tailed version with Hercules engines, and a twin-tailed version with Griffon engines (design now lost). The wings would have extended span.  The aircraft would have a 4-gun 50.cal rear turret, an upper turret with two 20mm cannon (Boulton-Paul Type H) and a remote lower turret with two 20mm cannon (Boulton-Paul Type 0), the front turret would also have two 20mm cannon.

A civil Stirling Airliner & a Super Stirling with Bristol Centaurus engines were also proposed ...
