AW / Leonardo EH-101
« on: December 24, 2022, 07:26:54 AM »
I'm thinking about what to do with my EH-101 kits. Given the CH-149 announcement yesterday I spent too much of today playing with MS Paint.

First, a few CH-148 Petrel / CH-149 Chimo profiles.

Here are normal EH-101s.

And here are stretched fuselage ideas (H/T to Robert). I did not move engines/rotor so 4 window stretch looks a wee big weird. And would probably be a pain to fly if it could even get off the ground. Also larger sponsons.

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

I seem to remember seeing either a mock-up or drawing of one with wings like the Blackhawks have, sure it was a special forces version.

I'd always go for the stretched version but that will require 2 kits (fine for moneybags ::))

A yellow & dayglo Canadian one looks good.

re the Flight Magazine one .. the high-set stub wings look ideal for mounting rocket pods or fuel-tanks etc.  But don't know about the "moustache" on it :-\

The unbuilt version that was to be the new "Marine One", 'cept Dick Cheney kept requesting add-ons that raised cost and weight until it got cancelled (I got this directly from someone who had worked on the US side).

Thanks for sharing the background on the VH-71 Evan.

I will build a RCAF VIP version of the CH-148/149. But don't ask for timeline of when.  ;D

Between that and the cancellation of the A-12 (much deserved though it may have been), his name is pretty much "mud" in this town's aerospace segment.
