I have just been diagnosed with delta-wing dementia. So here are a few ideas currently held together by green "idea tape". One day glue will replace the tape.

From left to right:

Mitsubishi F-3A
Republic F-30B Thunderjet II
Republic RF-31A Thunderflash II
Something I just put together tonight. Not sure what I will call it.

Correct-a-mundo. There is a backstory to this and it's brethren so I won't go into all the details just yet.

No, it is not part of this CYWBGB but rather my inability to remain focused on a single build.   :(

Thanks guys.

It's a Hasegawa TF-104 with Italeri JAS-39B Gripen wings. This was truly a spontaneous idea. Recall this thread, Model Kit Playing (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=6028.0)? Well this is a prime example of such behaviour. The F-104 was already in my "Build Box" and Gripen was lying around trying to find a use. It was truly a "eureka" moment when my brain synapses misfired and I held the two kits together and thought this just might work.

So it was off to the garage to meet your styrene fate with our good friend Dr. Dremel.  After few minutes on the operating table (just a shoe box) (and without anesthesia I might add) with the screaming tool of doom I was able to fit the Gripen wing on bottom of the F-104 and still have a defensible design (mainly providing air flow to the engine). The Gripen wing is a one large piece unit with the LG bays part of the wing so lots of F-104 had be removed.

It too is part of a larger backstory (including the Tonka + F-4 wing) so stay tuned to this bat channel kiddies.

I'll provide more pictures.

Okay. I have finally surrendered to Mark Zuckerberg and his Facebook digital army.

In order to find out what my 18 year is doing, I had to get a Facebook account as this is how he documents his life. Plus I needed to get the scoop on his new GF. She's a good kid BTW.  ;)

I also found some BTS folks who took pity on me and are now my friends as along I keep up with the agreed upon monthly payment.

I also discovered some awesome aviation related groups including John Lacey aka Maverick.  He is still producing some awesome aircraft.

But what really made my day is a group called "CF-101 Voodoo Fans". I introduced myself and now I have found many of my old CFB Comox and 409 Squadron mates whom I have not seen/heard from in 36 years. Some are even living here in Ottawa.  :-\

And to add to the mix, I posted my Weapon Tech Air grad photo taken at CFSAOE (now CFSATE) at CFB Borden in June 1980. Thorough this group, I  have been able to learn many forgotten names.

The only downside is that this picture shows lots of hair, innocence and a 29" waist of a 19 year old. Sigh!!!  :icon_crap:
