Title: Fokker Tragschrauber
Post by: Silver Fox on August 03, 2014, 09:29:14 AM
The Fokker Tragschrauber is a little known relative of the far more famous Fokker DR. 1 Triplane.

An utter failure as either a scout or fighter over the battlefields of WWI Europe, it did go on to serve admirably as a naval scout in the Kaiserliche Marine. Operating from aboard the ships of the Kaiser's Navy. Sadly almost all Fokker Tragschrauber were lost at sea. It is now believed that many of the recovered components of Fokker Dr. 1's were actually components of incomplete Tragschraubers.

Starting point for the model will be a Revell Dr. 1. This is convenient as the two types are so closely related. A more involved back story is entirely likely. ;)

I only know about the austro-hungarian PKZ-2 (and -1, of course) as a sort of helicopter in WW I.

I'll be most interested in seeing this one progress.

I always that that wonderful Revell Dr-1 kit was ripe for the what-if treatment!

Thanks again, Silver Fox, you brought to my mind new Mustangs and Twin-Mustang (Autogyros...). This is not for the competition here, as this is dated 1940s, not 1910s, but it was fun, thanks a lot! ;)
